Detail
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is divided into three types of water-soluble cellulose ethers: methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, and hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose. These products are formed by partially replacing hydroxyl groups with methyl, hydroxypropyl, or hydroxyethyl groups. Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is used in building materials, coatings, chemicals, personal care, pharmaceuticals, and home decoration.
Reasonable application of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose products can:
Improve the construction efficiency of mortar and achieve mechanized construction, thereby saving time and materials;
Produce high-quality mortar products and endow mortar with new functions;
Improve the adaptability of mortar to the application environment.
Main performance
Water retention: When hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is applied to the surface of water absorbing materials such as walls, it has the characteristic of effectively reducing water loss.
Water solubility: Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is easily soluble in cold water, but insoluble in hot water.
Organic solubility: The hydrophobic functional groups unique to hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose allow it to dissolve in some organic binary compounds and aqueous solvents.
PH stability: The pH value of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is generally stable in the range of 3.0-11.0. The solubility of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is affected by acidity or alkalinity.
Non ionic substitutability: Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose can be compatible with other additives in aqueous solutions and provides a stable water-soluble combination.
Thickening and adhesion: Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose solution has the properties of thickening and enhancing adhesion.
Suspension: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can improve the suspension stability of solutions.
Thermogellability: When the temperature rises to a certain extent, HPMC aqueous solution will gel. When the solution temperature drops, the gel phenomenon will disappear.
Lubrication: The characteristics of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose can improve workability, enhance the processability of cement-based products, and improve the extrusion performance of ceramic tiles.
Surface activity: The surface activity of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose provides the required protective colloid and emulsifying effect in solution.
Film forming property: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can form a transparent, flexible and strong film, which can effectively block oil and fat.
Antibacterial and antifungal properties: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can effectively prevent bacterial invasion during long-term storage, ensuring good viscosity stability.
Emulsification: HPMC acts as a stable lotion in its solution.
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a very important component in building materials, which can improve the water retention, strength, and bonding strength of cement, lime calcium, and stone paste based systems. It also makes it possible to industrialize the production of high-quality mortar products.
Main purpose
Interior and exterior wall putty: The water retention performance of HPMC prevents the putty powder from cracking due to drying too quickly after scraping, enhances the strength after hardening, and facilitates scraping construction. Due to its viscosity, it also helps to improve the bonding strength.
Ordinary mortar: Adding an appropriate amount of HPMC can make the mortar uniform and full, smooth to apply, non stick and non sagging, promote better hydration of the mortar binder material, and improve the later strength of the mortar.
Ceramic tile bonding mortar: HPMC's good water retention, enhanced bonding strength, and high resistance to sagging improve the efficiency of tile bonding, greatly improving the construction performance of the adhesive, allowing for longer opening time and stronger bonding strength, preventing tiles from losing water too quickly and falling off, and enhancing bonding strength and shear strength.
Gypsum based plastering: HPMC can retain the moisture in the mortar and completely solidify the gypsum. Its anti sagging properties allow construction workers to apply thicker coatings without causing building ripples.
Mechanical spray plastering: HPMC can enhance the pumpability and anti sagging properties of the sprayed slurry, prolong the operable time, improve the workability of the mortar, and avoid mortar layering and pipe blockage.
Cement based self leveling and grouting materials: Low viscosity HPMC has anti settling properties, enhanced fluidity, and pumpability. Its water retention can prevent bleeding, segregation, reduce cracking and shrinkage.
Packaging, transportation, and storage
The product is packaged in composite bags, with a net weight of 25kg per bag. When stored indoors, it should be kept in a ventilated and dry place, and moisture should be taken into account. Pay attention to rain and sun protection during transportation.
